Lodgify Product Updates: Fresh Features in Full Bloom

We can’t promise May flowers, but one thing’s certain: April brought a fresh round of powerful updates to our software. From simplifying the website editing experience to enhancing invoice generation (and much more), we’ve been hard at work delivering time-saving, stress-reducing improvements you’re sure to appreciate.

Let’s take a look at what’s new!

A new editing experience for our website builder

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make edits directly from the website preview when reviewing your site? Now, thanks to our new inline and pop-over editing features, you can!

Let’s take a look at what each of these features entails.

Inline editing

With our new inline editing feature, you can:

  • Edit content in place within the website preview, without opening a side editor.
  • See real-time changes as you type.
  • Enjoy a more user-friendly interface that reduces the effort necessary to make updates!

Inline editing is currently available in the content sections of the Homepage and Custom Pages only. Head over to our website builder to check it out!

Pop-over editing

Similarly, our new pop-over editing feature enables you to edit the Hero image section of your site directly from the website preview. Simply hover over the Hero image and your cursor will change to a hand icon. When you click on the image, a pop-over editor will appear, offering the following quick editing options:

  • Add, remove, or reorder Hero images (by simply dragging and dropping the photos).
  • Edit the headline text of the Hero section.
  • Show or hide the search bar in the Hero section.

Keep in mind that:

  • Changes are auto-saved when you click outside the pop-over.
  • The pop-over is a complement to the existing sidebar editor:
    • The sidebar is still available under the Styles page.
    • The pop-over is accessible only from the Pages page.
  • The pop-over is draggable, so you can move it around to preview changes more easily.
  • As before, .jpg images are recommended, and video files are not allowed.

We’re working on extending the pop-over editing experience to even more website sections and widgets, so stay tuned! Together with the inline editor and the drag-and-drop feature released in February, the pop-over editor is part of our plan to implement more direct, on-page editing tools for simpler website management.

Customize your booking widget with these new options

You asked for it, and we listened: Lodgify customers with external (non-Lodgify) sites can now customize the Search Box and Booking Box widgets to either show or hide:

  • Rental prices
  • The location dropdown
  • The guest breakdown (adults, children, infants, pets)

We want you to be able to fully control your widget setup to match your website’s specific needs, and we hope these new options help. Lodgify users with Lodgify-built websites, don’t worry—these options will soon be available for you, too!

To customize your external booking widget, go to Website builder > External widgets > Settings.

Manage your automatic response languages

We’re excited to announce a much-requested improvement to our Automatic Responses feature: You can now manage which languages are enabled, giving you more control over and clarity into your guest communications.

Before, all languages were enabled by default, and it was unclear how languages were selected for each recipient. What’s more, editing responses for all languages was time-consuming, and the dropdown menu made it difficult to navigate between them efficiently.

Thankfully, you now have a Manage Languages side sheet where you can:

  • Add, remove, and select a default language for guest messages.
  • Clearly see how languages work for rental and account contacts.

No more confusion or unnecessary edits across the languages you don’t want to use! Guests receive messages in the languages you prefer, and you save both time and stress.

To update your settings, go to Settings > Automatic responses > Manage languages. You can also visit our Knowledge Base to learn more.

Invoice generation keeps getting better

At the beginning of the year, we announced a new update that allows you to manually generate invoices right after a reservation is made. Now, we’re excited to share two additional improvements!

Set invoices to generate automatically after booking confirmation

The first update: Ultimate plan users can now use the functionality mentioned above to support automatic invoice generation as well.

To be more specific, you can not only generate invoices automatically, but even choose exactly when invoices are auto-generated—giving you more flexibility and less manual work. For example, choose to generate invoices:

  • After checkout (default): Invoices are created the day after your guest leaves.
  • After booking (new): Need them sooner? Generate invoices automatically as soon as a reservation is confirmed.

Whether you’re invoicing early or prepping for accounting, this update helps you move faster and stay hands-off.

To update your invoice generation settings, go to Settings > Invoice Settings. When the Automatic invoice generation toggle is enabled, the Invoice Creation Date setting becomes visible, allowing you to choose between the two available options. The default value is After checkout date. If the toggle is disabled, this setting is hidden.

Generate invoices for third-party bookings

And another invoice-related update for Ultimate plan users: You can now create invoices for reservations from third-party booking platforms right alongside your direct and manual bookings. Whether you prefer to generate them manually or automatically, everything happens seamlessly in one place.

Plus, we’ve added a small but impactful upgrade: Every invoice PDF now includes clear reservation details for easy reference!

Want to put this feature to use? You can easily locate the Generate invoice button on the details page of all third-party reservations. If automatic generation is enabled, invoices for third-party bookings will be created automatically and displayed in the invoicing box.

A smoother way to manage users is here

Managing users just got easier!

Our newly redesigned Users page (formerly called Owners) now features a cleaner, more intuitive interface—making it simpler than ever to view, create, and manage your users in one place. Whether you’re onboarding new team members or updating existing profiles, the experience is now faster and more user-friendly from start to finish.

But the real game-changer? You can now assign rentals at the same time you invite a new user—no more waiting for the invite to be accepted before taking that next step. This small but powerful upgrade streamlines the process, saving time and reducing friction for account holders. It’s a smarter, more efficient way to stay in control of your user management.

To make changes to your users, select Users from your account menu. You can find the account menu at the top right of the screen within your Lodgify account.
